Where is RNA mainly produced?

most of time, RNA is synthesized based on the DNA template. so most RNA is produced where DNA is located (e.g. nucleus). but sometimes, mostly in the case of viruses, RNA can be produced based on an RNA template. These RNA is produced in cytoplasm.
