How did the Catholic Church add to the Bible?
She did not add to the bible after She closed the canon in the 4th century. The Catholic Church, in a council of about 400 bishops chose which books were to be placed in the canon fromm many mcripts that were extant at the time. Some were gnostic, some were pious forgeries, some were out right heresy. By the power of the Holy Spirit, the Church came up with the bible. The Jews of the time accepted the LXX, septuagint. They never closed their canon until well into the Christian era at the council of Jamnia. By then, they already had an axe to grind with Christianity. To suppose that the Church added the 7 books in the 16th century is foolish. The council of Trent is when She reaffirmed the ancient canon in the face of the reformers abridgment Pax Christi
