Well, if you want small and unknown, Local H is a two-piece rock band that's pretty good, kind of like Nirvana and the Offspring. You might like Fountains of Wayne, Barenaked Ladies, Cage the Elephant, Five for Fighting, and Kaiser Chiefs.
