How can i make a good zombie story? help?

i want to start it just as it begins so i can descirbe the chaos. then i want to follow some survivors, so far i have a zombie virus starting in the UK, it does not cross to any other country as by that time all air travel was suspended. its going to start like the swine flu epidemic. any hints or tips? if you provide a character profile i will put them into my story and sen u the part where i introduce them
